noun a disease causing enlargement of the lymph nodes, where small nodules or granulomas form in certain tissues, especially in the lungs or liver and other parts of the body. Also called Boeck’s disease, Boeck’s sarcoid (NOTE: The Kveim test confirms the presence of sarcoidosis.)
